Our Story

Elizabeth Garwo
Get to Know Us
Elizabeth Garwo, a retired registered nurse originally from Nimeah Beach, Grand Kru County, Liberia, dedicated her retirement savings to establish the Elizabeth Gedi Garwo Clinic in 2017 after witnessing firsthand the challenges individuals and families faced in accessing healthcare in rural Liberia. Her commitment created a trusted source of compassionate, high-quality healthcare for Nimeah Beach and surrounding communities.
Today, the Elizabeth Gedi Garwo Foundation carries this vision forward by strengthening the clinic through sustainable investments in infrastructure, healthcare workforce development, technology, education, and meaningful partnerships. Together, we are working to improve health outcomes and expand access to quality healthcare for underserved communities across rural Liberia.
